Elegant Winter Wedding in Deer Valley, Utah
Intimate winter wedding or special ski trip weekend with your favorite people? Why not both?
Like many couples during the pandemic, Southern Californians Megan and Adam had to creatively reconfigure their traditional wedding plans to keep family and friends safe. Their unique solution was an adventurous and intentional 30 person winter ski celebration in Deer Valley, near Park City, Utah.
With Covid-19 precautions in mind, they chose a private luxury home rental as the venue for their wedding festivities. One of the benefits of their Airbnb approach is that their loved ones got to stay on the property together. Their friends and family spent their free time time skiing in and out of the property, enjoying après skis and making memories.
With the temperature hovering around 30F, the brave couple still had their ceremony outside with snow-covered peaks and dolled-up guests as their witnesses. Megan looked radiant in her winter appropriate long-sleeved Monique Lhuillier dress.
A private chef cooked dinner for everyone at the chalet. Warm conversation and speeches took place over 1 long candle-lit table. After dinner and one quick outfit change for the bride later, the whole group danced the night away into the wee hours of the morning (another benefit of a home wedding, no end time).
I'm honored to have been a part of the fun and I only hope that more couples follow this adventurous, intimate wedding style of gathering with just your nearest and dearest.
