Super 8mm Wedding Films
Like a Time Machine
Set to your favorite tune of choice, without fanfare or a multi-camera production — just real and raw film.
With a background in filmmaking, I know firsthand that traditional videography can sometimes make the wedding day feel like a film set. I wanted something simple and unobtrusive for my couples. This is where Super 8mm comes in.
Super 8mm is a vintage film format from the 1960s developed by Kodak. Shot on old cameras — it’s back to the basics in its simplicity. Naturally soft, grainy, imperfect. It captures the feeling of the day, all on film.
Time and time again, I have witnessed a certain magic that can’t be felt or replicated with modern video. Super 8mm isn’t for everyone — it’s playful, a little different, and a keepsake you’ll actually watch again and again.
"The excitement of grainy film, of bleached-out black and white, is the excitement of witnessing events too momentous for the medium assigned to record them."
-Brian Eno

Frequently asked Questions
More Details on Super 8mm
Does Super 8mm come with sound?
The vintage cameras do not record sound. Instead, your footage will be paired with a favorite song of choice. Think of it like a personalized music video of your wedding celebration.
How does this differ from digital video?
Digital video does not quite capture the leaks of light, the stop motion feel, or the natural grain like Super 8mm. In digital videos, you have multiple angles, drone footage, and crystal clear, sharp footage. These things can be great but they don’t feel as intimate or as genuine as real film.
Who shoots the Super 8mm on the day? Can I book your team for video services only?
For weddings that add-on Super 8mm, I have a team of go-to cinematographers who will join us on your special day while I focus on photography. We typically only offer Super 8mm to couples who book photography, but feel free to inquire and we can try to make magic happen if we have availability.
